I'm Emily and I'm an Illustrator and Surface Pattern Designer based on the Wirral. I have loved growing up on the Wirral and find constant inspiration from living by the coast, as well as having the chance to explore nearby cities and countryside!
I studied Surface Pattern and Printed Textiles at Leeds College of Art and always dreamed of having my own business - however big or small. I have worked in the design industry for a number of years, always for much larger retail companies but found that my passion and desire to work for myself grew and grew.
In 2019, due to many changes in my work and personal circumstances, I decided it was the right time to take a bit more of a leap into the self-employed world and focus on creating and developing my small business. I found the concept of working in an office environment quite uninspiring and demotivating so, for the sake of my sanity and to have a creative outlet, I continued to build this little online space and began creating products that made me and my customers happy - it was definitely time to make a change and I am so excited to see where this journey will take me!
I've learnt a lot so far, with the help of a business coach and finding the time to juggle between a full-time job, my small business and a life has been a challenge but having this creative outlet and a space where I can let my ideas have free reign is something that I am thoroughly enjoying so far. At the moment, I thrive from being a one girl band as my product range and design collections grow.
My latest collection focuses on new baby products and celebrating a new person in the world! It has been a lovely project to design, source, package and print and it's one that has pushed me to 're-launch' and to focus on other new aspects in my business, such as re-branding and becoming more involved in the local artisan community!
